Qumana
I have been using a new program which I love so I thought I would give it a shout out. It’s totally free which is always a big plus. I’ve been using it for about 2 months now which I think is enough time to have a good sense of things.
It’s called Qumana and it’s a free piece of software for people with blogs. You punch in the info for your blog (or blogs in my case) and then just type the message into the window. It’s a WYSIWIG editor so if you don’t know HTML, it figures it out for you or if you prefer to post in HTML it lets you do that as well.
What I really like about it is that is spell checks as you go and it saves so if you have a random thought and just want to jot down a few things and not post it yet, you can. You also don’t have to be connected to the Internet which is really cool when you are stuck without a connection. You can just upload later.
I also like the multiple blogs feature because since I have three now, it’s really easy to post to any one of them without logging in and out of several sites.
It works with pretty much every major blog engine. It works great with blogger, the only thing you need to do if you decide to use it is to remember to turn off enters as breaks under preferences, otherwise every entry you write will be in double space basically.
There is also a feature that lets you insert ads into your blog which I think could be very cool, but I haven’t used it yet. I am currently just running Google Ads on my blogs for now, but it’s something I will try in the future. Anytime I can make money for rambling on, its a good day.
My only complaint so far is the fact that when you customize an ad, there is no way to save the color profile to use again and the fact that it will not upload pictures for you.
I would also love it if you could schedule a post to be posted on a future date. It’s pretty new, though, so I am confident they will add this stuff as they go.
