I am working happily today online when suddenly chat explodes. Now, technically, I don’t work in chat anymore but since it was insanely busy all of a sudden, I jumped in.

I probably went through about 20 chats total in the 2 hours I spent helping but I spent exactly 1 hour and 37 minutes trying to help this one man checkout. Every time either of us clicked anything, we were given the site is broken screen and the process took forever. (May I add that this man was neither patient, understanding, or very bright). The entire time, I am thinking "what the heck is going on with the site?"

I check my email to see if I missed some crazy bug and there is an email that just says, "We are getting record traffic today, no idea why, site may not work."

So I continue the crazy chat fest for a while and then my shift is over so I got do other things. Upon returning to check my email tonight, I have an email explaining that, apparently, Lance Bass’s lover (who is mentioned today in his coming out statement) has published a calendar on Lulu. (You may want to wash your eyes after looking.)

Anyway, while he did not actually sell more than a single calendar today, this was a Lulu record for the most number of hits to a single page in one day and basically crippled the site.

What former boy bander can I hook up with to get traffic like that?
