What is wrong with Donald Trump?
Remember that Iraqi guy who used to come on the news all the time and say things
like "the Americans aren’t anywhere near us" and they would be, like,
standing behind him?
I think Donald Trump might be related to him.
Donald Trump who just keeps saying that his wig is real hair, even though everyone
knows it isn’t.
Donald Trump who kept saying over and over in the media how The Apprentice
was #1 in the ratings, even as journalists were like "Sir, that is not
true. At all."
Now, Donald Trump is denying that he ever filed for bankruptcy, even though
the whole world watched him do it quite a few times.
Just because you say something over and over again, loudly, doesn’t make it
true. I know he keeps doing this because there is this stupid subsection of
the population that believes him and so he can basically rewrite history, but
this whole thing is so ridiculous.
And, OK, I am a big Rosie fan and have been for a long time, but even when
I take total distance from the situation, Rosie said that Donald Trump has been
bankrupt and divorced so many times that he should not be a moral compass for
America. No matter how meanly you think she meant it, the fact that he has been
divorced and bankrupt are plain old facts you can find anywhere. And "you
shouldn’t be a moral compass" is not exactly scathing as insults go.
He has responded like a 5 year old by making personal attacks about her sexuality,
her weight, her looks, saying that her show was a huge bomb (this one doesn’t
even make sense to me….it ran for many years, won hundreds of awards and they
were begging her to stay when she wanted to end it), that he was going to sue
her for fun and saying that he is going to steal her wife (???? this one is
the most insane….why would Rosie’s wife and the mother of their kids want
to run off with Donald Trump? And how does Donald’s wife feel about his sudden
desire for an affair with a lesbian?).
Now, I had about 3 minutes of warm feeling towards Trump once when he did that
Donald Trumps House of Wings sketch on SNL, but that is pretty much it. I have
never understood the appeal of him as a person and I also, even as a little
kid, never understood why he pretended he was so rich but you heard about him
filling for bankruptcy all the time. I have moved towards not having an opinion
on him at all, to disliking him very much for being a homophobic, immature ass.
And don’t make fun of fat people. NOT COOL!
Regardless if how you feel about either person, however, if person A says that
person B shouldn’t be a "moral compass" and person B responds by calling
person A nothing but personal attacks, I would like to think that most people
would turn against person B. But sadly, this is America. And all the scary fundies
are out there going "well, Rosie a lesbian and that is bad so Trump must
be Jesus for saying bad things about her!" I realize that there is only
a small subsection and that the comments you see on these news stories only
represent the people with so little of a life that they post replies to news
stories, but its really disturbing where we live in a world where you can respond
to an intelligent comment with the most defamatory comments in the world and
some people turn against the person you are attacking. Kramer was crucified
for saying the n-word. Why can’t the gays and overweight people crucify Trump
over this?
Even though Trump is screaming his various prejudices on any radio station
that will have him, Rosie didn’t even broach the subject except for one small
jab on The View. Her wife was in the audience and she said something to the
effect of "I was afraid to leave her at home. I was afraid someone with
a comb over would take her."
After being called fat 800 times, ugly 150 times, anit-gay slurs 75 times and
stupid at least 10 times, I think she is totally allowed one comb-over crack
in response.
And yes, I shouldn’t even remotely care. . . I just see all these crazy people
posting comments on these news stories and I am so terrified that someday I
will be raising children in this world. . .
