Britney Spears has dead, long live Britney Spears
Upon my return home, I received, amongst millions of other legitimate emails, the following grammatically perfect spam. I have removed then link so the spammer will not profit:
Exclusive!!! Britney Spears has dead… See the last moments of Britney with life
Exclusive!!!
Today Monday, October 1, 2007 died
Britney SpearsLook at the pictures and one video captured in the clinic of the suicide.
She made the demonic cry after scrawling the devil’s number "666" across her head. Also she repeated several times “I am a fraud”.
The medical service of the clinic Promises of Malibu couldn’t prevent the suicide of Britney, she hang herself with a bedsheet.

Copyright 2007 The New York Times Company
Let’s take a moment to review this, shall we? First, of course, the funniest part is the copyright line. How could you not identify this intellectual and high brow writing style as The New York Times? The New York Times is also known for misspellings (assuming the spammer meant "the execute option") and over dramatic use of exclamation points so, honestly, there was no need to identify it as a work of the fine publication, it was so obvious.
Secondly, what is "the demonic cry"? The email mentions it like it’s something we all know. I mean, I am assuming it’s Awwwwwoooogaaaa, but that is just a guess.
I have often mourned the fact that I cannot do click.
I am relieved that while Britney does have dead, she hasn’t died. Honestly, who doesn’t have a little dead lying around? I am, however, very sad that Monday, October 1, 2007 has died as it was a good chum of mine.
