Tried to make me go to Mario Kart Rehab and I said, “No, no, no.” (But in an Italian accent, like Mario)

So the glorious revolution that is Mario Kart Wii has taken over our lives. The first night we got it, I played for so long I gave myself serious carpal tunnel and had to spend the rest of the week playing with a paperclip of science that held the acceleration button down for me because it hurt too much to hold it myself. It’s pathetic, but totally true. We (my husband, brother and I) are so addicted it’s ridiculous. We play online most nights but have managed to get together for two marathon nights all in the same location.

I want to write a full review of it at some point but, for now, here are some Mario Kart related quotes for your amusement:

*my mother answers the telephone*
Me (in an outrageous, high pitched Italian accent): Is-a Mario there?
My mom (without missing a beat in the exact same accent): Hey Mario! It’s-a Luigi. Pick up-a the phone!

My brother: So, what are you doing on Saturday?
Me: Nothing specific, why?
My brother: Would you be interested in playing an obscene amount of Mario Kart?

My TXT message to my brother the day Mario Kart arrived: Wario rides his fat hog 2night!

My husband: I swear to god, if Peach passes me again I am going to punch her in the uterus!
*at the end of the same race, as Peach crosses the finish line ahead of him*
My husband (in dismay): There goes Peach and her un-punched uterus.

A txt msg from my brother the next day: Each morning I wake thankful that my uterus is still un-punched.

My brother: We should make Mario Kart into a drinking game!
Me: Mario Kart: DUI

My husband: You know, I thought your brother was insane for saying he thought about Mario Kart while driving until I went out to get the pizza and tried to Power Slide around a turn.

My brother: I have no idea what this paperclip system looks like so I am just picturing you with paperclips on your fingers like Edward Scissorhands.

My brother: Listen, Hill, I know you said you were going to try to take a break from Mario Kart and do some work tonight so I thought I would help you out by calling and asking if you wanted to play Mario Kart now.
