25 Random Things About Me

This has been going about Facebook like a plague and I was tagged quite a few times and now I feel obligated to respond. But I refuse to put it on Facebook, mainly because I have no idea who has tagged me and who hasn’t and it is too confusing.

So, yeah, if you are reading this, consider yourself tagged.

Rules:

Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you.

1. I am a total junkie of the computer game The Sims. I don’t get too play it very often, but when it do, I play for hours at a time.
2. My knee caps are the wrong shape. The doctors told my mom when I was really little that if we didn’t operate on them, I would never walk again. We didn’t get the operation. I can still walk fine. Not sure what the lesson is there.
3. I used to be very obsessed with the second Robin, Jason Todd, from the Batman comics. Yeah, that’s right. I couldn’t care less about Batman. I was obsessed with ROBIN. Not even the Nighthawks Robin. The random second Robin.
4. I collect My Little Ponies. I have a lot of them but I am nowhere near as nuts as some people out there. I own one that is worth over $1,000. I paid like $2 for her so, you know, WIN.
5. I used to ride horses and teach horseback riding. I was pretty good. I went all the way to the top skill level at my riding school with like advanced classes and such and I rode for over 20 years. Then they closed my stable and I never rode again. That story had a really sad ending. 
6. I’m married but I didn’t change my last name. People are absurdly not understanding about this.
7. I was named (Hillary) for a character on some cowboy TV show my mom was watching while pregnant. It supposedly means funny and cheerful.
8. My husband, brother and I play a lot of Mario Kart. Whatever your definition of “a lot” is, triple it and that is how much Mario Kart we play.
9. I run the one and only fansite for voice over actor Jim Cummings (http://www.cultofcummings.com) and have since high school.
10. My grandfather’s birthday is the day before mine. My husband’s grandmother’s birthday is the day before his. How weird is that?
11. My husband and I met the first week of college in the front of Rooke Chapel when they asked for volunteers for the church choir. We knew we liked each other instantly. It *only* took us 4 years to do something about that.
12. If I have kids, my brother will be an Uncle Sam, born on July 3rd (seriously!)
13. If my brother has kids, I will be their Aunt Hill (say it outloud).
14. I always introduce myself as Hillary, though pretty much no one calls me that. Friends usually call me Hill, family all call me Hilly.
15. The P in DePiano is capitalized. For some reason, mostly every company on earth cannot cope with this. It is also all one word with no space.
16. I was the 1998 NJ State Champion in Prose Interpretation for my reading of The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig. The same day, I also won third place in the state for Poetry Interpretation. I was a forensics god in high school. I have several boxes full of trophies somewhere.
17. I have been in a lot of plays in a school setting. Someday, I will have time to do some community theatre, I hope, because I really miss it.
18. My family has gone to Disney World at least once every single year of my life. We freaking love that place.
19. I have had three dogs: Casey, Dusty and Howie. Casey was the star before I was born so she really wanted me gone. Dusty liked me best of all of them. Howie kind of hated me but I won him over by taking him with me when I went jogging.
20. I am hard pressed to come up with 25 things about myself. Seriously, I’m only at 20?
21. I used to love all those WB shows: Dawson’s Creek, Roswell, Felicity, Buffy, etc.
22. Buffy might be my favorite TV show of all time but LOST is a close second. 
23. My play, The Love of Three Oranges, has been performed not only in the US in many places but also in Germany, Great Britain, Canada, Australia and there is a performance coming this year in Singapore.
24. I really really love The Muppets. My online handle is Muppetfreak. It does not stand for Marla Uppetfreak. If you get that joke, there is a chance you hang out with me too often.
25. I will succumb to annoying internet memes but only after they are passe!
