While word count widgets for writers are everywhere, it can be a bit harder to find page count widgets. I’ve compiled some of the ones I’ve found here but please feel free to post your favorite ones below.

Widgets specifically for Script Frenzy

• Hillary’s Advanced Page & Word Count Calculator for Script Frenzy
  While you can’t really display this on your website, it is a much more advanced way of keeping track of your page and word count both. Also, I made it!
• Official Script Frenzy widgets
  They usually don’t appear until a few days into the challenge when the servers are under less pressure but these widgets pull directly from the official site whenever you update your page count. They only show for registered users so make sure you are logged in before you click the link above.
• Personalised Script Frenzy Page Count (made with Yahoo Pipes)
  This fan made widget works great but is a little boring in appearance. That said, if you are Pipes savvy, it’s a great starting point to customize. It also pulls directly from your page count on the official site so you don’t need to update.
• Pagecount Widgets
  Darin Wick is working on several forms of page count widgets and you can track his progress here.

Some NaNoWriMo or word count widgets can be adapted to Script Frenzy

There are many word count widgets that will let you edit their settings to convert them to Script Frenzy widgets. Think outside the box and look at what other widgets can be converted to your purposes easily.

My pick: NaNoWriMo Word Meter from Language is a Virus
Designed for NaNoWriMo, this little wonderful little widget is very very adaptable to many situations, including Script Frenzy. (I’ve also used it for book reading challenges, to do lists, weight loss and more, it is really my go-to widget for everything!)

For instance:

If I change the default word goal to 100, input my current page count (50) and then submit, it gives me this:

50 / 100 words. 50% done!

So then, all I need to do is go change the word “words” above to “pages” and I am all set with this:

50 / 100 pages. 50% done!

Even better? It’s customizable to any color and is just a bit of code so it won’t slow down your site or the hosting site or ever crash.

Disadvantages? Well, it is HTML so depending on how your CSS is set up, it may not work on your page without a little tweaking.
