Hillary DePiano’s The My Little Pony Collector’s Inventory: a complete checklist of all US ponies, playsets and accessories from 1981 to 1992 (ISBN: 1411621654) has been well received by the MLP collecting community and fans of the toys around the world.

Parsippany, NJ (PRESS RELEASE) June 13, 2005- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. Though they may not be as visible as the Star Wars fans dressed like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker who line up to see Revenge of the Sith or as notorious as the Trekkies or X-Philes, there is still a large and devoted following of My Little Pony (MLP) collectors who simply cannot get enough of Hasbro’s pastel ponies of the 1980s. Since they began in 1981, My Little Pony not only had a successful 10 year run as one of the hottest toys on the market, but also an animated series and feature film, both of which earned them hundreds of fans who still collect the figures to this day. But with the tons of ponies, playsets and tiny accessories from not only the 1981 but also the 1997 and 2003 releases, some collectors were having a hard time getting their collections in order.

“I have Tupperware containers everywhere with ponies in them! In the closet, under the bed, in the garage, everywhere! Whenever I tried to think about what ponies I still needed, I had to dig through 50 boxes for the answer,” laughs Hillary DePiano whose My Little Pony Collector’s Inventory: A Complete Checklist of All US Ponies, Playsets and Accessories from 1981 to 1992 has helped her and other pony collectors all around the world get their collections in order. “Now it’s as simple as my taking out my copy of the book and leafing through it. I get the same information, without climbing around on my hands and knees for an hour!”

Other pony collectors have also been sounding off on the new guide and many are giving it rave reviews. Brooklyn Shepard, who has collected MLP since she was a child, hails the guide as “a comprehensive and informative guide for the serious My Little Pony enthusiast. I couldn’t have organized my 20 year collection without it!”

For Rachel Davis and her pony-collecting daughter Alycia, the book has made pony collecting into a mother/daughter sport. “We think the book is just FANTASTIC!” Rachel gushes. “I am a Mom with a young Pony Collector who had boxes of Pony items and no idea what went with what Pony. This wonderful book helped us match her Ponies with their brushes, stickers, and other items we otherwise would have not known went together. This book is very well put together and we found it easy to use. We even used it when we went to our local flea market. Thanks to the descriptions, we located several items we otherwise would have not even noticed! Alycia loves the book and, even if she is only nine, she is learning how to use the book herself. It definitely has made going to flea markets more fun. Kind of like a treasure hunt! It really helped us to put Alycia’s collection in order and she doesn’t have a big box of accessories just lying around now!”

Adult collector Kathy Koppang cheers the Collectors Inventory as “a must” and rates it four stars. “The book is well organized from the 80′s to the 90′s has detailed explanations on the G1 accessories. It is easy to flip through quickly leaves space for your own notes on each entry,” Kathy adds. “Well done, Hillary, somebody had to do it!”

Experienced collector Tiffany Searing also offers her praise for the title, saying “This is a handy little book to have. It is very nice to have a guide arranged as a checklist, so you can mark off what you have and carry it around with you!! There are many collectors who really want to get EVERY LAST ACCESSORY and we need a good guide. If you’re an experienced collector, I would recommend it.”

The My Little Pony Collector’s Inventory is currently available in all major bookstores as well as Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1411621654/pricednostalg-20/ref=nosim/102-1499352-1144134) where there are reviews available from other collectors and where buyers can peek inside the book as part of Amazon’s Search Inside the Book program.
