2008 Comic Con My Little Pony

After much squealing of glee upon opening my 2007 Comic Con pony (recently aquired) and placing her on the shelf above my desk where she sits watching over me like I am the fair city that she has sworn to protect, I decided to look up with the exclusive for this year looks like.

People are calling her the Comic Book Villain Pony but I think that she looks more like a ninja pony to me (what with the Hiya and all).

Thanks to Toy News International for the pic.

What is with the lack of eyes lately?

While you are pretty cool, ninja pony, and far be it for me to ever criticize a black pony (which 90% of pony people are obsessed with the idea of) but I like the 2007 one much better. This is not to say, however, that I would refuse one if offered.

Anyone want to offer?

When I close my eyes, all I see are My Little Pony. . .

Seriously. It’s like a problem.

So I am back after my convention this weekend. In short, I really had a ball not only at the MLP Convention but also just taking in the sights and foods of Rhode Island with my husband. It actually ended up being a pretty relaxing vacation after all the chaos of the week before. Also, all the Hasbro stuff was beyond cool and it would have been worth the trip if meeting with Hasbro was all that we did.

I am going to be writing several posts over the course of the day/week detailing a lot of the stuff from this weekend mainly because I really want to remember it all while it is fresh in my head and also because I know a lot of people couldn’t be there and are just dying for as much info as possible.

I don’t know the final total of how much money we made (that is on the To Do list for later today) but we ended up making more than we spent on the trip which is largely all that matters. I also ended up snagging some ponies that I have been after for a long time so it was worth it in that respect.

Biggest collecting coup of the trip: someone traded me a Comic Convention exclusive pony for two of the ponies I brought to sell/trad with and a copy of my She-Ra book. Since I don’t care about my trade/sale ponies (hence why I brought them to sell/trade) and figured I would never get a Comic Con pony since they were going for a ton on eBay, I was way pumped. This is what this awesome pony looks like so you understand my joy: Continue Reading »

My Little Pony Fair Convention

As you may have deduced by my status messages, I have been in the midst of a week from hell getting ready to go to the big My Little Pony convention. It is in RI this year which is where the Hasbro factory is so we are going to get to tour the factory so it will be very cool. I am definitely excited about going since we missed the last two but let me put it this way: My husband and I have thousands of dollars worth of ponies and books crammed into our car to sell, none of which was ready to go a few days ago. In three days we washed, styled, tagged and packed all of that. It was not fun, let me tell you. The basic problem is that we hadn’t realized how close this event was. All the while that I was talking about whether I should go to eBay Live or not, I had no idea it was the same weekend as this.

The one good thing, though, is that all this rush rush stress stress ends as soon as we get into the car. Friday is the Hasbro tour and then nothing else so we are going to be tourists and then the actual convention will be fun.

So basically this week will have been pony hell and pony heaven combined.

I wanted to try to live blog from the convention but I am not sure if it will be possible. I am going to try to at least just post one thing a night and some photos. If I cannot even do that, well then expect all sorts of stuff when I get back.

For me, going to an MLP convention is like going to a casino for some people. I need to set aside only a small amount of money to gamble . . . I mean spend on ponies and then be careful not to turn around and spend my winnings. . . I mean the money I make from selling ponies on more ponies. I have a sickness. It’s fine.

Now, I have to just shower, pack my clothes, go to the bank to get our start-up, go to Staples to get our posters, eat lunch, go to the post office to mail my eBay stuff, then . . . hmm. I have more to do than I thought. Maybe I should go. . . .
