Northeast New Jersey finished NaNoWriMo 2010 in the top 50 highest word counts!!

Guys, I hope you’ll indulge me. I have to do a little bragging.

This year I was the ML for Northeast NJ region and we had this amazingly fantastic group of people. We had a great turn out at events, had a ton of fun and had a lot of people finish the competition. I couldn’t have asked for a better area.

But I just learned today that the NE NJ novelists were even cooler than I had any idea.

NaNoWriMo released some site wide statistics today and they ranked the “Wordiest NaNoWriMo Regions” which are the regions with the most total words and NE NJ made it to the top 50! To put this in perspective, the area who ranked right above us was the entire Philippines and the entire nation of Sweden was only two places above us. In fact, if you look at the list, nearly all of the areas are big areas or whole countries and all we are is a small little subsection of NJ.

And you know what else we are? Freaking awesome!!!!

My heart is exploding with pride for my region right now!

So, NE NJ-ers reading this, you guys seriously (and now officially) rock. 🙂

Now, what do you say we shoot for top 25 next year, hmmm? 😉
