I have a tendency to refer to whatever I’m currently reading as “my book.”
Of course, I also refer to the book I’m writing as “my book.”
Which got me to thinking…
Might one of the best indicators that you’ve really become a writer be when you refer to “my book” and the person you are talking to aks if you mean the book you are reading or the book that you are writing? Because the fact that you are writing a book is high profile enough that people are aware of it on a daily basis and/or you’re simply talking about it enough that its on other people’s minds too?
No? Just me?
