I am incredibly excited to announce that I have a new play coming out and it’s actually only one of two new plays I have coming out this summer. If you took advantage of my offer in this post, you probably knew this was coming but let me officially introduce you to the play formerly known as The Play With the Talking Coat Rack… New Year’s Thieve!
It’s New Year’s Eve at the North Pole but the work of the holidays isn’t over. Father Time’s warehouse is under renovation and Santa’s Workshop is bursting at the stocking seams trying to house the world’s New Years shipment. The extra pressure isn’t helping the head elf, Murry, tolerate the festivities on what’s already his least favorite holiday. They’ve almost made it to midnight when an unexpected, and strangely familiar, caller in an old silk hat appears looking for the boss. He’s convinced he’s cursed and desperate for a cure that may be beyond Santa Claus’ powers. When the situation turns desperate and the visitor turns thief, will Time be on their side? Can the elves restore the light of the future before the ball drops on another year?
New Year’s Thieve is a holiday comedy in one act for all ages from the author of The Love of Three Oranges and Polar Twilight.
Run Time: 35 – 45 minutes
2 Male, 3 Female, 3 Either
7 to 10+ actors possible
The release date for the Acting Edition is July 2nd, 2014. But because I know many schools are picking out their schedules for next season at the end of this year, I pushed to have the eBook out much earlier. In fact, it’s already available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble as I write this so the other retailers can’t be far behind. So while it’s not officially out yet, you can start reading it right away if you want.
I’ll be running some promotions, giveaways and launching the official website for the play as we get closer to the date but I wanted to officially announce the publication date here and reveal the cover art since some of you may have already seen the eBook appear for sale. I hope to have some production news to share with you soon but, in the meantime, please take a look at it and give it a read! I’m very proud of this play and excited for everyone to read it.
