a few changes to the blog and site

If you have a second, poke around the site a little bit and take a look at some of the changes I made. Let me know what you think. Better? Worse? Eh?

The biggest change is that the site is branded around my name now instead of Unpublishable Pennings. I also had to change the Unpublishable Pennings logo which I loved which is really the main thing that took me so long to change because it was so hard to give that logo up. 🙁

I intended to change the site like this for a while so it’s a big weight off my mind that this is finally done. I was having issues where people I knew from other sites would visit this site when I linked to it on Twitter and have no idea it was my website so I needed to give it a branding facelift so it was less “Why is Hillary sending me to this website?” and more “Oh, this is Hillary’s website.” Unpublishable Pennings is a fun name I made up. My name is what I need to be pushing from a marketing standpoint. You understand.

Fun new features:

• Tag-o-rama! I have a new WordPress plugin that automatically tags all my posts (Simple Tags). All this really means is that there is a nifty little list at the bottom of every link that recommends other posts that might be related to what you are ready. The recommendations should get better the longer I have this set up so I am excited about that.
• Search! If you ever wanted to search through the archive of all the years that I have had this blog, now you can! Just take a look at the left navbar for the nifty new search box.
• Recent posts from Unpublishble Pennings and The Whine Seller at the bottom of all non-blog pages

Thank you very much to those of you that have been reading this blog for all these years and through all these changes. My hope is that this is the last big change for a while!
