If you were to visit my Playscripts author page right now, you’d noticed something downright interesting underneath the listing for The Love of Three Oranges. Namely, that they seem to be under the impression I’ve another play by the name of Polar Twilight.
Well, um, surprise! 😉
I’m pleased to announce that Playscripts, Inc has secured the rights to my newest play, a 1 Act holiday-themed comedy called Polar Twilight. While I’m sure Playscripts will debut their own marketing copy for when we get closer to release, here’s the pitch I sent them to give you an idea of what the play is about:
When three candidates are called to interview at the North Pole, they’re expecting to find a dream job gift wrapped for them. But once they meet Big Red himself, they start to realize that everything we think we know about the holiday isn’t just wrong… the truth is downright scary. But even if this revelation has sucked all the life out of the legend, the alternative is worse. What would happen if everyone knew? Could this be the end of Christmas as we know it? Santa Claus has a real PR problem and, to save the yuletide, they’ll need to help him keep up this Christmas conspiracy.
The fact that this is the first time you’re hearing about this play by name is a sign of how quickly everything happened. It’s been less than 4 months total since I finished this script, set up a premiere (details of which I will be posting soon) and sold it to Playscripts. I promise they’ll be many more posts in the near future about how this show came about but, in the meantime, you can actually already register a performance of this show on the play page here. Until official acting editions are available through Playscripts though, I’m the only source for scripts.
You can also sign up to be emailed as soon as scripts are available through Playscripts here.
Release date? I have no idea. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear! But the show is already listed on the Coming Soon page which can only mean good things.

Not going to lie, I’m totally jealous that my play isn’t called Exit, Pursued by a Bear but I will likely get over it… in time.
Thank you all very much for your continued support!
