NaNoWriMo: a quick note on Week Three

Can you believe it?

It’s Week Three. Thanksgiving is only 10 days away and we’re edging ever closer to the end of this 30 day journey.

Many of you have already won and hundreds more are right on pace to cross the finish line on time. The rest of us, however, still have a lot of words to go before we hit 50,000 and the clock is ticking.

Here’s the good news: It’s about to get easier. Whatever your word count, power through and try to get as close to 30,000 or beyond as you can in the next day or so. Why? It’s not about number of words, it’s about your novel. Once you push past the halfway point, you’ll hit the climax of your story and that’s when all the writing gets a billion times easier. Trust me on this one. After 30k, the words just kind of write themselves.

I know what you’re thinking and, YES, you can still win at this point.

Ahead, behind, not yet started… it doesn’t matter. The secret to Week Three is to just KEEP WRITING!
