I don’t normally do cross-overs like this but I wanted to add something to this post from The Whine Seller: How do you do your To Do (list)? To recap, it’s a post about how I use electronic To Do lists for big projects but I keep my daily To Dos on a good old fashioned paper list.

But I wanted to add that, since I’m also a writer, I do have one problem with my paper list that I think is unique to writers.

I have a tendency to jot down story ideas and notes about my current work in progress on whatever piece of paper is handy. That means my To Do list often looks like this:

  • Call Bob
  • Compose project emails
  • Kill the janitor before the explosion at the bowling alley

I hope no one’s going through my trash and finding these. Or if they are, that they understand I’m a writer. Otherwise I am definitely on some kind of list somewhere…

Do you find yourself doing this? (and how hilarious is that picture above? It looks so normal at first glance…)
