So, you’re thinking about writing a script in a month as part of the month long Script Frenzy (Screnzy) challenge? This sister event from the people behind NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) gives you the chance to challenge yourself to write a 100 page script in 30 days this April. I’m here to try to give you some tips to help you complete this huge goal.

One of the best things about Script Frenzy is the pep talks. Script Frenzy staff and the occasional special guests from the world of screen, stage, comics or film email you inspirational letters to make you want to keep working on your script throughout the month. They are usually well written and are often a huge help.

These arrive in your email somewhat randomly. My advice? Don’t automatically read them as soon as they arrive. Wait until you need them and, trust me, you will need them. Wait until that day when you are so sick of your script and totally ready to quit to crack those emails open. They will do you much more good if you do.

If this is your first Screnzy, you’re in luck. You have a whole archive of Pep Talks from past years to comb through as well, giving yourself lots of extra inspiration.
