No matter how badly this month is going (and I, too, am oh so behind) you’ve got to stick this Camp NaNoWriMo journey out until the very end because…
…my pep talk won’t come out until the end of the month and if you quit early, you’ll miss it!
Oh, yeah and blah, blah, blah, finishing your novel, realizing your dreams, whatever.
Now, back to more important things. Pep talk! By me!
Seriously, you guys, I’m one of the published writers that NaNoWriMo asked to do an official pep talk this April. ME!
Can I just freak out for a minute? Because, obviously, I’m a huge supporter of this NaNoWriMo stuff and I’ve had this silly bucket list goal type thingie in my head that it would be so cool if someday I could be one of those Wrimo alumni who got a publishing deal for their NaNoWriMo novel and then I would be ALL FANCY and they would ask me to come back and write a pep talk and I would write The Best Pep Talk of All Time. And I’ve had this in my head as this far off goal that it never occurred to me that, if we’re talking about Camp NaNoWriMo aka the month long event formally known as Script Frenzy, I am already a published author since I’m a published playwright, duh.
Incidentally, I’m finding this to be one of the hardest parts of being a grown-up. I have these milestones and goals in my head that I picture happening in The Future and then sometimes I just hit them like, huh, guess I can check that off early. And it’s awesome but it also really messes with my head.
Anyway, they gave me sort of an assignment for my pep talk and it was a slightly awkward one, not to mention that I was basically obligated by law to make some cheesy camping puns in there, so it’s probably not The Best Pep Talk of All Time. But, never the less, it is a talk and it contains pep so there we are. I hope you’ll log in and check it out when the time comes.
I don’t know exactly when it will be up but I do know it’s slated towards the end of the month because of the topic so I do hope you’ll stick it out until the bitter end if for no other reason than to ensure that someone reads it. OK, I’m done spastically tooting my own horn. Happy writing, everyone!
