Seriously. It’s like a problem.
So I am back after my convention this weekend. In short, I really had a ball not only at the MLP Convention but also just taking in the sights and foods of Rhode Island with my husband. It actually ended up being a pretty relaxing vacation after all the chaos of the week before. Also, all the Hasbro stuff was beyond cool and it would have been worth the trip if meeting with Hasbro was all that we did.
I am going to be writing several posts over the course of the day/week detailing a lot of the stuff from this weekend mainly because I really want to remember it all while it is fresh in my head and also because I know a lot of people couldn’t be there and are just dying for as much info as possible.
I don’t know the final total of how much money we made (that is on the To Do list for later today) but we ended up making more than we spent on the trip which is largely all that matters. I also ended up snagging some ponies that I have been after for a long time so it was worth it in that respect.
Biggest collecting coup of the trip: someone traded me a Comic Convention exclusive pony for two of the ponies I brought to sell/trad with and a copy of my She-Ra book. Since I don’t care about my trade/sale ponies (hence why I brought them to sell/trade) and figured I would never get a Comic Con pony since they were going for a ton on eBay, I was way pumped. This is what this awesome pony looks like so you understand my joy:
Come on. Even if you are not an MLP collector, you have to admit that is awesome. So it’s basically like I got that awesomeness for free. Or, I guess, technically just the cost of a She-Ra book at my author’ price. Which seems like free to me.

Basically it went like this. Lady was all like, “Will you take trades?” and I was like “Maybe, what do you have?” and she is all “I only have G3’s” and I am like “Eh, I don’t really collect G3s I mostly collect vintage ponies” and she is all “Oh, because I have the comic con pony” and I am like “Wait! Whoa! Holy god, really? WANT!!!” I have lost the ability to play it cool in these instances.
I am a loser. It’s fine.
I also found out that there is a mini-MLP meet-up in New Jersey in August and at least one of my MLP Friends, the lovely and talented Kimberly Shriner and her husband, will be there so we are thinking about making the trek as its pretty close. Should be a good time, but we will have to play it by ear. I am becoming a pony junky.
Anyway, I have a ludicrous amount of work to catch up on since not only was I away but I also let a lot of stuff slide last week because I was prepping for the convention so it’s going to be a crazy day. I am going to try to write up the rest of the posts about the fair today though because I want to be able to show my mom all this craziness because I know she will get a kick out of it.
Oh and next year, the My Little Pony convention is in Las Vegas so maybe some of you non-pony people can tag along and go gamble while I do my pony thing and then we can all hang out at night. My husband is pretty good at blackjack so I told him that he can go and win me money which I will, in turn, spend on ponies. It is a good system.
