So, you’re thinking about writing a script in a month as part of the month long Script Frenzy (Screnzy) challenge? This sister event from the people behind NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) gives you the chance to challenge yourself to write a 100 page script in 30 days this April.

But to give yourself the best chance of finishing this crazy challenge, you should plan to front load your page count and get ahead early.

There are two reasons to get ahead on your page count and stock pile a lot of extra pages in the beginning. The first is that things come up and you may need these extra pages to make up for days you have to take off later on. Crises happen unannounced and this way a crisis won’t totally cripple your count.

Also, in the beginning of the month, you are all inspired and full of fire. Take advantage of that and write as much as possible. This way, when you start to feel ready to quit as you drag into the later weeks, you will already be farther along in your story and the later you are in your story, the easier and more fun it is to write.

Trust me, 30 days isn’t as long as it seems it is at the beginning of the month so do yourself a favor and get ahead if you have the chance.
