So you aren’t a script writer or maybe you just aren’t interested in writing a script. But there is this crazy writing contest coming up in April and wouldn’t it be nice to take advantage of that crazy inspirational fervor and community?
In the end, Script Frenzy is a self-challenge. So even if you aren’t planning on writing a script, why not use the month long contest as an excuse to challenge yourself to write 100 pages of something else.
Need some ideas?
- Use Script Frenzy to add 100 pages to an old, unfinished project. Maybe you could add some more pages to your unfinished NaNoWriMo novel from last year?
- Do a second NaNoWriMo. Why not tap into the support group and write another 50,000 word novel in April? If you have a history of not finishing NaNo novels, what a great chance to finish all of them.
- Write 100 pages worth of new writing: short stories, articles, etc
Is it cheating to write 100 pages of something else? Well, maybe according to the official Script Frenzy rules. But the whole purpose of the challenge is to push yourself in your writing so as long as you push yourself to write 100 pages, who cares if it isn’t a script?
But what do you think? Would that be cheating?

Screnzy rebels! Yes, this thought has crossed my mind… I don’t want to write a script, but I DO want to feed off all the creative energy bouncing off the walls this month.
I was almost a Screnzy rebel this year until a last minute idea changed my mind but there still is the great network of events, community and support group in this month as there is in NaNoWriMo, why not take advantage of it even if you aren’t interested in script writing?
