While I’ve got a couple of posts about Script Frenzy the event coming up, I wanted to pop in to quickly let you guys know that The Office of Letters and Light is having a crazy clearance sale of everything Script Frenzy related. This is the very last chance to get official Screnzy merchandise before it is, literally, gone forever. You can see the full list of Script Frenzy stuff available here.
Even if you’ve never thought about buying anything Script Frenzy related before, here’s some reasons you may want to reconsider:
- Everything is really cheap. $5 hats. $10 T-shirts. Those huge posters that used to only be available if you donated over $100? $10.
- Everything you purchase is a donation to The Office of Letters and Light which goes directly into funding things like NaNoWriMo, Camp NaNoWriMo and the Young Writer’s Program. When else can you feel so good about buying yourself a present? If you were going to donate $10 anyway, why not get a sweet T-shirt or poster for your trouble?
- Script Frenzy stuff is the perfect retro fashion statement for a writer. While the cancellation of this great event is still a fresh wound for some of us, the Screnzy merch will be the perfect throwback writer wear in the future since you literally won’t be able to get it anywhere. Be the envy of everyone at your writing group by showing that you used to write a script in a month back before it became mainstream. (And, yes, you can wear the swag even if you never actually participated or won a Script Frenzy… we won’t tell.)
- It’s your very last chance for a little souvenir of this great event before it disappears forever. Don’t you want a little something to remember it by?
Me? I just bought myself the long sleeve T-shirt and the Page Frenzy poster.
A little story about why I bought the poster: Usually the posters are only for donors that donate $100 or more to the event but they are offered to the MLs for only the price of shipping as a Thank You for putting in as many hours as we do. I really love those posters and I’ve amassed quite a collection after so many years as an ML for NaNoWriMo. For my birthday, my husband actually got all my OLL posters framed and they hang prominently in our house AND I LOVE THEM. The one from Script Frenzy 2011 is my favorite of the bunch.
As for Script Frenzy 2010, though I was an ML that year as well, I was one unofficially because I signed up too late and so I didn’t get the poster. Since there wasn’t enough funding for Script Frenzy 2012 and there was no poster that year either. So I spent three years as a Screnzy ML but I only have one Script Frenzy poster. I love the look of the Screnzy posters so much I finally decided that I could treat myself to the one poster I missed out on since, thanks to this sale, it’s only $10. I’m so excited to hang it with the others. 🙂
