Long Suffering Husband is reading Knuffle Bunny to the toddler. They are enjoying it together and it’s a very sweet moment. He finishes and says, “That’s such a nice story. It’s just this dad hanging out with is daughter and the illustrations are so simple.”
And I’m expecting him to elaborate on that and say something sweet about spending time with his daughter and he says nothing so finally, I say, “Was there more to that thought?”
“Just that we should get in on that,” he says matter-of-factly. “Cash in.”
And, apparently, by “we” he actually just meant me…
