Some parts of a novel are much easier to write than others.

Those first few words? Terrifying! But once you get going, things will go pretty smoothly in the beginning. Words will just be spilling out, youโ€™ll be excited about your story and thenโ€ฆ boom. Youโ€™ll hit a wall, the story will get harder to tell, and youโ€™ll want to quit. This doesn’t mean youโ€™re a terrible writer or that your story idea is no good. It happens to everyone. The middle of the story, the part youโ€™ll hit at just about the second week of NaNoWriMo, is the hardest part to write and itโ€™s also the time when most people quit and abandon their novels. But you have to fight the urge to pack it up and push forward because, once you pass the middling middles and push forward to the climax of your story, youโ€™ll find that the writingย gets much easier and the words will be flowing even faster than before.
