“Move a log. Go nuts.”

“Move a log. Go nuts.”

by Hillary DePiano | Jun 25, 2012 | External Stimuli, My Writing, Uncategorized

At the beginning of Act 2, Scene 3 of The Love of Three Oranges, the stage directions read: Strike the cauldron. It’s a different part of the forest. Change the lights if you want. Move a log. Go nuts. This is, of course, the least professional stage direction...

Beyond Amazon, eBay, and Etsy: My *almost* bestselling book

by Hillary DePiano | Jun 19, 2012 | External Stimuli, Me, but Elsewhere, My Writing

Clearly, blogging has gotten complete out of hand the last few weeks. I took the time to explain a bit of why over on The Whine Seller so I won’t repeat myself here. I will say, in addition to being busy, one of the reasons I’ve been so quiet is that there...

“Grammar just don’t matter no more.”

by Hillary DePiano | Apr 19, 2012 | External Stimuli

“You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” -Jack London

by Hillary DePiano | Apr 13, 2012 | External Stimuli, On Writing: Craft and Commiseration, Personally..., Playwriting and Theatre

I love that quote above. Obviously, when it comes to writing, it’s particularly relevant. So many writers lament that they just aren’t inspired to write or that their muse isn’t telling them what to write or whatever way they justify it to themselves...
